I must admit I am a Dreamer
and I Do Believe in Peace,
the Greater Good,
that Beauty can be found in Every Moment,
and I do hope for an ever Brighter Future.
I am excited for our future;
I look forward to positive change, creating a more positive impact on our environment and in our lives.
There are so many exciting new Dreams and Goals I’m setting for 2009…
Before I tell you where I’m going, let me share with you where I’ve been…
2008 has been a monumental year for The Relaxation Spot and me.
As many of you know 2008 Began with me preparing to embark on the adventure of a lifetime.
Costa Rica. February of 2008 began an opportunity to continue my massage education with expert instructors flown in from all over the world. 17 of them! Only 12 students were chosen for the 4 1/2mth intensive bootcamp program…and I was one of them!!
January was a blur filled with sudden bouts of spasmodic excitement mixed with thoughts of… ‘How do you pack lightly for living remotely for 4 ½ mths…” … And “Wow, I have a wonderful husband to be supportive and encouraging of me taking this Educational Adventure".
Costa Rica was a journey both inward and outward finding balance between intense classes and living in a beautiful paradise. I created balance by studying diligently and creating a ritual of walking meditations on the beach, my feet could actually tell what part of the 4mile stretch of beach I walked by the way the sand felt between my toes. The weather was warm and sunny, as were the locals, my instructors and fellow students. October My husband and I began a Yoga teacher’s training course and will be registered Yoga Instructor in April of 2009. This has also been an intensive program with instructors from all over the world… although this time I didn’t have to travel… for some reason they’re all coming to Berks County!!
There is so much to learn in this world and I don't plan on stopping!
2008 Ended in a bang when I became a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist.
For 8yrs I have been a Certified Massage Therapist however Pennsylvania didn’t have any specific requirements for a Massage Therapist.
In 2009 this will be changing. Licensure has passed. Although I could have accepted the GrandFathering provisioning having over 1000 hrs of Massage education and 8yrs exp puts me well beyond the requirements. Although taking a 3hr extensive exam is not my idea of fun. You deserve it. And passing it was fun. Not doing something for a very long time makes it appear like a giant task ahead of you. I was relieved that the test administer waited till after I passed to tell me they have been seeing many people fail this test. I'm so glad it's done!
